My Favorite Home Finds From Cottonwood Company

My History With Cottonwood

Cottonwood Company holds a very special place in my heart. Back in 2019 I decided to lay down my woodworking business and switch gears. My heart was to serve someone else’s dream and vision and simply be the wind in their sails.

After being self-employed for nearly 4 years, I really didn’t know what in the world I would want to do as a job. All I knew was that I wanted to work for a local small business that was very family centered or family owned. Cottonwood Company crossed my mind in that moment which seemed super random considering I had only stepped foot in there storefront 1 time. Within 24 hours of praying for direction and thinking about Cottonwood I remember Cottonwood Company made a post about looking to hire someone—I actually still have the screenshot of their post on my phone haha. I inquired and before I knew it I was on the phone with the store owner Allyson Dutton. At that point I honestly wasn’t quite sure if I even wanted the job. I mean, I had been my own boss for 4 years. Did I really want to work for someone else again? Before I could address all the questions flowing through my mind, Allyson told me I had the job. I was a little stunned. I expected a face-to-face interview and a little more time to “logically” think about the shift I was about to make, but that isn’t how it panned out.

I started my job at Cottonwood company just a few days after being hired and I remember feeling so refreshed. Looking back, I see how the Lord used my time at Cottonwood Co. to broaden my perspective of business and to fill me with business dreams I had never dreamed before. It was in that season I realized how much I love seeing people’s dreams come to fruition and come into a greater fullness.

From the beginning, I had such a heart for Allyson. It honestly felt pretty supernatural how—before spending any time with her—the Lord turned my heart towards her. There was something really special about what the Lord was doing and the relationships He was forming. It was truly an honor to get to work for Allyson and partner with her dreams and the dreams of the Lord through her. There’s truly no one quite like Allyson and Tyler Dutton. I say it all the time when talking about my time at Cottonwood, but they are 2 people and business owners I admire the heck out of. Their integrity, compassion, and generosity is hard to come by. They’re the real deal.

Happy 4 Year Anniversary, Cottonwood!

October 20th, 2022 marks 4 years since the Dutton fam and Cottonwood team opened the doors to their dream. To celebrate with them from afar, I thought it wood be fun to put together a post with all my favorite finds from Cottonwood. I know I’ve only talked about my story with Cottonwood and how amazing the Dutton family is, but I definitely have to barg about the store itself. There’s not a store quite like Cottonwood Company. It is thoughtfully curated with the most beautiful home goods out there. The quality is top notch and the prices are just as amazing. The team at Cottonwood works so very hard and is always refreshing the floor with new finds and gorgeous displays. If you’re in the Niceville, FL area for their Christmas Open House November 4-5, 2022 you have to stop by. I’ve never seen a small business flip their entire storefront like Cottonwood does. Brand new displays and an entire store full of Christmas goodness. It’s magical. The store closes for several days and the team works very very very long days to make the magic come to life. Be sure to follow Cottonwood Company on Instagram to keep up with all their events!

Products I Have & Love

Here are a few of my favorite home finds from Cottonwood Company. I have to admit, my coffee mugs rank pretty high on my favorites list. My Freddie Mercury and Emerson mugs are used almost daily—they’re the perfect weight and size! I also bought my dad this Prince coffee mug a few years back for his birthday and it was a hit! When it comes to my kitchen, I feel like I have Cottonwood goods everywhere you look. I have this beautiful Acacia Wood Cutting Board displayed on my countertops as well as this texture-rich vase. Unfortunately Cottonwood is out of stock of the cutting board and vase, but I was able to find the exact products on other websites and link them. People ask me all the time where I got my gold measuring spoons and of course they’re also from beloved Cottonwood. One last kitchen item I own and love is this vintage measuring cup set (currently sold out at Cottonwood, but I found it on Wayfair-woo hoo!). Another vase/cachepot i adore from Cottonwood is this Mila Cachepot. It’s the perfect size to style on a coffee table. For all your pots and vases, I recommend filling it with this gorgeous maidenhair fern. I am pretty picky when it comes to purchasing faux greenery—Cottonwood is the only place I buy mine. They know how to do “faux” right. This dried star grass is also a fav of mine. I love love love having dried botanicals around my home all year—not just at Fall! Here’s another bunch of dried florals that I have and love!

Gift Idea For Only $12

Christmas is coming up which means tons of parties, gift giving and dirty santa gifts to be bought. This mug is one of my favs and only $12. I honestly prefer using it over mugs I paid 4x as much for.
